Exam revision is a stressful time and it is important to keep yourself healthy, both physically and mentally. We all have physical health and we all have mental health. Both need taking care of, particularly at times of a heavy workload as when revising for your exams.

Relaxation is a key factor in exam revision. Plenty of fresh air, good food, and rest will keep you in a healthy frame of mind to get you through this stressful time. After all, these exams are for your future. It is vital you are well-prepared.

When revising, listening to calming music can help steer your mind to a calmer place which will help you to empty your head of other distractions.

Does Music Aid in Helping to Concentrate?

Yes. Music is well known for calming people down in times of stress. If you have a massage, therapists play music to aid relaxation and clear your mind. To be able to revise efficiently, your mind should be clear.

This is quite hard to achieve, however, music can help soothe you and bring you to a more settled place and face the task at hand. Concentration is necessary for exam revision purposes and music can help you concentrate.

What Music Would Make Exam Revision More Pleasurable?

Soft, gentle music is ideal for studying. Classical music does improve spatial reasoning and helps you concentrate. Slightly more upbeat music, such as electric guitars can help, but obviously, heavy metal music will not be beneficial. You could end up with a headache!

Some sounds of nature or dolphin sounds are also good and there are many CDs around which contain this type of music. Non-lyrical music is much better, as you won’t be tempted to sing along out loud. Soft and gentle is the key, nothing with too many deep bass tones, which gives off a ‘boom-boom’ thud.

Are There Any Tests Which Prove Sounds Stimulate The Brain

There are studies that correlate that music stimulates the brain. Surgeons often listen to music when in the theater. Listening to classical sounds are known to improve logical skills as your brain begins to unwind. It will concentrate on the sounds and be able to memorize them. Mozart and Schubert have common classical tunes that many people listen to.

Stimulating your brain with music helps to improve your cognitive functioning and concentration. Many people will listen to music while relaxing in the bath and feel refreshed and relaxed at the same time and this is a mental state of mind combined with warm water.

The body is relaxed, yet the brain is refreshed therefore, reading a book after this example will prove much easier and you will be able to concentrate on what you are reading.

Music has been used for children as young as three years old to improve their motor functions. This is the ideal age for a human being to be receptive to new patterns. This effect will lessen as humans age, but at study age, it will help you to concentrate.

The Mozart Effect is the most commonly known proven example of how music improves spatial-temporal-reasoning and while children benefit the most, there is nothing to suggest that young adults do not benefit with an improved cognitive state.

The Mozart Effect was termed by a medic who used Mozart’s music to assist him in curing disorders. It has also been proven that listening to Mozart improves one area of the IQ test. Listening to music while revising will boost your concentration levels and improve exam revision techniques.
