What happens when we die? Despite the enormous strides in science in the last decades, it still cannot give definitive explanations.

After death, is there something more than the blackness of nothing? Most people believe so. Unfortunately, we don’t know for sure what happens when we die.

Stories & theories

Studies on near-death experiences report fleeting, almost supernatural experiences retold by hundreds of thousands of people who have been on the shores of death. But are these stories true? This combination of progress and a lack of results has led to the emergence of a variety of theories in recent years. Below there are the most common of them.

Answer 1: There is an afterlife

In 2008, Dr. Eben Alexander, a neurosurgeon at Harvard Medical School, fell into a deep coma which was caused by bacterial meningitis. After seven days of brain death, Dr. Alexander woke up from the coma.

His memories of the coma varied from obscure visions to a journey through a sort of ‘core’, in which he met with whom he considered to be God. As a result, he realized that there was another kind of existence other than the one he knew and studied.

Most scientists believe that “when the brain dies, the same happens to the mind, soul, or self”. But the experience of Dr. Alexander shows that this is not the whole truth.

How can a person with a dead brain have a rich spiritual experience if his soul has died too? Now that’s something to think about, huh.

Answer 2: The mind can function without the physical body

Dr. Bruce Greyson, a psychiatrist at the University of Virginia, is a leading expert in near-death experiences and has studied over 100 cases of near-death episodes. From his work, he learned that many patients claimed to have experienced a sense of peace and separation from their physical body. Also, there are cases when people claim to have met deities or their deceased loved ones.

The majority of scientists consider such experiences nothing more than illusions caused by some difficult condition where the brain is under tremendous pressure. But Greyson thinks that near-death experiences prove the hypothesis that the mind can function without the physical body.

Answer 3: We never really die

Robert Lanza developed the biocentrism theory and argues that as far as space and time exist only as tools of better understanding the world around us, they do not exist without consciousness. Therefore, in reality, we never die.

In his opinion, “death is a reboot that leads to all the latent possibilities”.

Lanza’s ideas are closely tied to the theory he suggested, according to which life and biology are the central concepts of existence, reality and the world. Life creates the universe, not vice versa.

According to the belief of biocentrism, modern theories of the physical world will not work until they fully explain life and consciousness.

Answer 4: Nothing ‘supernatural’ happens

Dr. Wendy Wright, a neurologist at Emory University, considers near-death experiences nothing more than a result of the release of endorphins in the brain. This provokes different kinds of phenomena: one person can experience a sense of tranquility or feel like they are being surrounded by loved ones”.

Such visions are just tricks of the brain, according to Dr. Wright.

What do you think?

With this information and any other information that you might be aware of, do you feel that life after death truly exists? Is there a heaven, a hell, or something else? Maybe you’ve experienced a near-death experience and have seen outstanding visions of “the afterlife.” But are these images part of life after death or a product of our delirious and dying brain?

No one knows with certainty what happens when we die, but one thing is for sure, life should be lived to the fullest either way.

Think back to when you have your earliest memory’s……something in our brain gets turned on that allows us to remember. Why do you think we cant remember being a baby? Cause that one thing in our brain hasn’t been turned on yet……and that one thing allows us to have self awareness that allows us to be able to remember. Or that one thing hasn’t developed yet IDK….but what happens when we actually die is we go in to a dreamless sleep. Imagine a person that just fell asleep an began to dream (an when you actually die you don’t dream) now take away that one thing that allows us to have self-awareness away an that is what it is like to die. We are unaware that we are unconscious, we only become aware when we begin to dream an wake up. Now from the time from when we fall asleep to the time we begin to dream we are unaware of time an space an we have NO AWARENESS AT ALL

What if our souls are just energy and we get absorbed into the Universe as a new life form or go into the next dimension? The idea of reincarnation would not work really because if there are more living things let say on one planet that has only small life forms, than there was in the beginning, where did the new souls come from? Perhaps we are born in the first dimension, and work our way to the next, until we reach paradise or something like that. Or you just turn to nothing and you dissipate into nothingness.
