There are some mornings that leave us swearing to ourselves and committing ourselves to become more organized.

What comes out of those high-stress mornings? Typically nothing, we get stuck in a terrible cycle of wanting change but doing nothing about it. For some of us, we don’t know how we can be more organized because let’s face it, it is not a natural gift for most of us.

Here are three of the most effective ways on how to get a handle on your day and become more organized. Not to mention, you can do all of these tips within 10 minutes, the time it takes to drink your beverage of choice.

Look At Your Emotions

While it may sound silly, if you can look at your emotions objectively for the day, you will be more organized. Once you know that you are feeling more anxious, irritable, or even if you are bubbly, you can gear your day around those emotions and make them work for you.

If you are anxious, take a few deep breaths to calm your nerves. If you are irritable, try to relax and let go of the anger you are holding, after all, every day is a new day. Finally, if you are bubbly, you can use that energy and focus it to accomplish your tasks.

What Is Required Of You Today

For some this will mean making a manageable to-do list, for others, this is a mental checklist, whatever method makes it easier for you to see what people are asking of you. This can range from organizing a meeting, writing a report, to just being a parent.

There are always things people need from you; you owe it to yourself to know what exactly needs to be done this day.

Visualize Being Organized

When you have an action set in your mind, you tend to carry through with them; being organized is no different. You need to believe in the reasons you are becoming organized, no matter what they may be.

Do you want to be able to find your child’s hamster faster when it gets out? Are you looking to have a morning where you don’t need to turn around three times because you forgot something? Or maybe you want to be more organized because having a clutter-free life is always something that comes in handy.

When you decide to become more organized, you need to see how you are going to be altering your life in order to achieve it.

Becoming organized is a task that can vary in intensity. There is a massive difference between OCD tendencies and having control over your situations. An organized life means different things to different people, but the bottom line is that you can take control of your stress and anxiety by having an order in your life.
