Dr. Joe Dispenza claims that every time we learn something new, hundreds of thousands of our neurons change, which affects the state of our physical body. According to him, there is a link between matter and consciousness.

Dr. Dispenza is known worldwide for his original theory of the connection between mind and matter. The scientist gained his greatest fame after the release of his acclaimed documentary «We know what makes a signal» in 2004.

He argues that our consciousness has extraordinary abilities and can create a synaptic connection with a strong concentration.

How the Connection between Matter and Consciousness Works, According to Dr. Dispenza

Just imagine: with each new sensation, vision, or emotional experience, a new connection between two of more than 100,000 million brain cells is formed.

But to really make changes, one needs to concentrate on the reinforcement of the conditioned reflex, according to Dispenza. If within a short period of time such an experience takes place again, the connection will be strengthened. If it is not repeated for a long time, the relationship will become weaker or disappears at all.

Science regards the brain as something static and fixed, but in fact, it has a strong ability to change. Recent studies in neuroscience have shown the effect of different body’s experiences (such as fatigue, fear, joy, or cold) on our brain.

“What if just by thinking we make our inner alchemy out of the normal state so often that the self-regulation system of the body eventually considers this abnormal state to be the normal one?” asks Dr. Dispenza in his book «Evolve Your Brain: The Science of Changing Your Mind» published in 2007.

Dispenza argues that the brain is not able to distinguish between a physical sensation and an emotional experience. Thus, when our minds are always focused on the negative thoughts, our “gray matter” can easily be deceived and bring the body into a painful state.

Dispenza demonstrates his point with the help of the experiment described in his book, during which the volunteer pressed a springy device with his ring finger for an hour a day, for four weeks.

After the experiment, the finger became 30 percent stronger, claims Dispenza. At the same time, another group of volunteers had to imagine doing the same, but in fact, they never saw or touched the device. Four weeks later, their fingers were strengthened by 22 percent, Dr. Dispenza writes.

Exploring the Mind-Body Connection

For years, scientists have been studying the possible ways in which consciousness controls matter: from the placebo effect (when a person begins to feel better after allegedly taking drugs) to the practice of Tummo (the practice of Tibetan Buddhism, as a result of which the practitioners are sweating, meditating at a temperature below zero).

Such an influence of the practice on physical condition is just a by-product, which appears as a result of chemical reactions between neurons.

The research of Dr. Dispenza was interrupted by the onset of the crisis in his life. When riding a bike the doctor was struck by a car. To gain the ability to walk again, he had to go through a procedure that might be causing him chronic pain for life.

Dispenza decided to challenge science and get himself out of this situation through the power of his thoughts, and it worked. Nine months later, Dispenza was able to walk again. Inspired by this success, he decided to dedicate his life to exploring the mind-body connection.

Determined to explore the ability of the power of the mind to treat the body, Dr. Dispenza interviewed a countless number of people who had experienced what he calls a “spontaneous remission.”

These were people with serious illnesses who had chosen to ignore the traditional treatment but never fully recovered. Dispenza came to the conclusion that all these people had the understanding that their thoughts determine their health condition. When they focused on changing their thoughts, their diseases disappeared in an incredible way, Dr. Dispenza claims.

Criticisms

Many are skeptical of Dispenza’s ideas about the ability of the thoughts to transform the physical condition. His theory of “faith in one’s own reality” tends to be regarded as pseudoscience and does not have much scientific basis.

Perhaps the scientific community is not yet ready to recognize that the physical condition could be changed with the help of the power of consciousness, but Dr. Dispenza, however, argues that this is really happening.

I don’t expect that science will allow us to go further because if we do, then it will turn into a form of religion. We should remain “outsiders” and do something supernormal. When we have complete confidence in our abilities, we will create a new science”, says Dispenza.

What are your thoughts on the link between matter and consciousness? Do Dr. Dispenza’s ideas sound convincing to you?

Science has actually already confirmed all of this, just look into quantum mechanics and be amazed 😉

Just more proof that EFT really works, and works really well.

Even among scientists, there have been always zealots, if all scientists had been always like this, science would have never progressed from the beginning.
Science should be always open for amendments even if that would have to alter our “sacred” table of elements or even mathematical logic.
Having said that, many act out of envy to block others from achievement, that is rather a personal problem based on ideology.

I enjoyed this post. I have known for a long time that my thoughts control my body but it is nice to see that idea gaining ground, and being confirmed by some in the scientific arena. Thankyou

I think it is OK for the mind to understand anything that can ever be understood but it is mathematically impossible to break anything as proof

In my logical opinion we use ten percent of are brain according to science research an that’s human normalcy of intelligence which alone is vast an quick. Think if we were using 70% or 100% usage. The mind is a beautiful Diamond however when taking any chemical compound substance that is synthetic it puts the mind usage in a stupper that’s why statics are important but so is the truth. You can heal as you rest, science proved that theory clearly an when someone is tampered with in there rest it doesn’t interrupt but it interferes. An that depicts what behavior is going on in the person’s sleep patterns. So even if there is no conversation there is a exchange of pure energy. The medical profession is good to a certain degree but God has a way of taking good care of his creation. So I do combinations of regular doctor check ups an holistic care. Its are ancient history traditions, an as the brain heals so does the body. If given a chemical compound with physical injury it creates major malfunctions in the body until physical death. So now ask yourself am I physically fit? Am I really healthy? An why would anyone tamper with another in there healing session rest period. The body gives clear clues, just like the mind. Another example if you black out, that indicates not just physical injury but also to much of a chemical compound substance that the body does not need at all, an that ultimately begins the dengerative process in every way. No one has that authority to physically do you in that fashion an subconscious mind picks it all up. If someone has a beautiful mind why would anyone want it to be mush? We all are spiritually intelligent even if we are in a regressive state due to abuse, or any type of synthetic poison or medication. Some can not take anything pharmaceutical, an some can for a short term as directed by a licensed professional as indicated on every prescription bottle. It states clearly, ” FOR SHORT TERM USE”
