A book titled “Biocentrism: How Life and Consciousness Are the Keys to Understanding the Nature of the Universe“, published in the USA, has stirred up the Internet because of the notion that life does not end when the body dies and can last forever.

The author of this publication, scientist Robert Lanza, has no doubts that this may be possible.

Beyond time and space

Lanza is an expert in regenerative medicine and a scientific director at Advanced Cell Technology Company. While he is known for his extensive research on stem cells, he was also famous for several successful experiments on cloning endangered animal species.

But not so long ago, the scientist turned his attention to physics, quantum mechanics and astrophysics. This explosive mixture has given birth to the new theory of biocentrism, which the professor has been preaching ever since.

The theory implies that death simply does not exist. It is an illusion that arises in the minds of people. It exists because people identify themselves with their bodies in the first place. They believe that the body is going to perish, sooner or later, thinking that their consciousness will disappear too.

According to Lanza, consciousness exists outside of the constraints of time and space. It is able to be anywhere: in the human body and outside of it. That fits well with the basic postulates of quantum mechanics, according to which a certain particle can be present anywhere and an event can happen in several, sometimes countless, ways.

Lanza believes that multiple universes can exist simultaneously. These universes contain multiple ways for possible scenarios to occur. In one universe, the body can be dead. And in another, it continues to exist, absorbing consciousness that migrated to this universe.

This means that while traveling through the ‘tunnel’, a dead person ends up in a similar world and thus stays alive. And so on, infinitely, according to biocentrism.

Multiple Worlds

multiverse parallel universes

This hope-instilling but extremely controversial theory by Lanza has many unwitting supporters – not just ‘mere mortals’ who want to live forever, but also some well-known scientists.

These are physicists and astrophysicists who tend to agree with the existence of parallel worlds and who suggest the possibility of multiple universes, known as the Multiverse theory.

Science fiction writer H.G. Wells was the first to come up with this concept, which was proposed in his story “The Door in the Wall” in 1895. 62 years after it was published, the idea was developed by Hugh Everett in his graduate thesis at Princeton University.

It basically states that at any given moment, the universe divides into countless similar instances.

And the next moment, these “newborn” universes split in a similar way. You may be present in some of these worlds – you may be reading this article in one universe or watching TV in another.

The triggering factor for these multiplying worlds is our actions, explained Everett. When we make certain choices, one universe instantly splits into two different versions of outcomes, according to this theory.

In the 1980s, Andrei Linde, a scientist from the Lebedev Physical Institute in Russia, developed the theory of multiple universes. He is now a professor at Stanford University.

Linde explained: “Space consists of many inflating spheres, which give rise to similar spheres, and those, in turn, produce spheres in even greater numbers, and so on to infinity.

In the universe, they are spaced apart. They are not aware of each other’s existence. But they represent parts of the same physical universe.

The notion that our universe is not alone is supported by data received from the Planck space telescope. Using the data, scientists created the most accurate map of the microwave background, the so-called cosmic microwave background radiation, which has remained since the inception of our universe.

They also found that the universe has a lot of anomalies represented by black holes and extensive gaps.

Theoretical physicist Laura Mersini-Houghton from North Carolina University argues that the anomalies of the microwave background could exist because our universe is influenced by other universes existing nearby. And holes and gaps are a direct result of attacks from neighboring universes.

Soul quanta

So, there is an abundance of places or other universes where our soul could migrate after death, according to the theory of neo-biocentrism. But does the soul exist?

Professor Stuart Hameroff from the University of Arizona has no doubts about the existence of an eternal soul. He believes that consciousness does not perish after death.

According to Hameroff, the human brain is the perfect quantum computer, and the soul, or consciousness, is simply information stored at the quantum level.

It can be transferred, following the death of the body; quantum information carried by consciousness merges with our universe and exists infinitely. In his turn, Lanza claims that the soul migrates to another universe. That is the main difference his theory has from similar ones.

Sir Roger Penrose, a well-known British physicist and expert in mathematics from Oxford, supports the multiverse theory as well. Together, scientists are developing a quantum theory to explain the phenomenon of consciousness.

They believe that they have found carriers of consciousness, the elements that accumulate information during life, and “drain” consciousness somewhere else after death.

These elements are located inside protein-based microtubules (neuronal microtubules), which previously have been attributed to a simple role of reinforcement and transport channeling inside a living cell. Based on their structure, microtubules are best suited to function as carriers of quantum properties inside the brain.

That is mainly because they are able to retain quantum states for a long time, meaning they can function as elements of a quantum computer.

What do you think about biocentrism? Does this theory seem feasible to you?

The theory is almost correct. Within thirty years people will figure out the way life and death works and scientists will agree that consciousness and the soul carry on indefinitely. I am a medium and my spirit guides have taught me that there are many different worlds in death states. Believe it, you are going to live forever. Karen

It seems to me “hard-atheist-skeptics” have a hard time embracing this new way of thinking in science, since it has a lot of “spook” in it,and maybe starting to resemble metaphysics. Everything for them is mechanical and we are no more than bio robots..Everything is so perfect just by chance..what a lame world..

“The brain is a macroscopic structure, so quantum effects will not affect it.”? One thing doesn’t imply the other. The eletrons in our brain should be connected to inumerous counterparts – entaglement – and even our whole body, meaning we could be existing simultaneously in multiple universes..

Let me start off by saying of coarse life will last forever. It’s like this, if I say I am alive in the 31 century, it won’t mean I’m actually alive then. You can call an apple and apple but that doesn’t make it an apple. So if I won’t be alive then, how do I know I’m alive now? I can’t say I’m alive because it’s just a word. So if I can’t say I’m alive, how can I ever die? Death is an illusion. The mind can be anywhere like this paper explained. I have a gift to see things no one else can like reliving someone else’s experience in their body and more. What I do is prove God indeed exists. All I have to do is prove that what atheists say is unintelligent is in fact intelligent. Look for example atoms are aware that they are being watched. This paper is saying what I have always said especially for quantum physics. What I can’t understand is how a writer wrote about science fiction and all the sudden people are looking for parallel words. I already knew about information being stored on the quantum level like this paper said. How can you be intelligent and not the material you’re made of? This paper here is about life continuing onward but the truth of the matter is not that life continues, it’s that the universe is alive and aware. Even Einstein knew that. ” anyone who becomes serious in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that there is a spirit manifest in the laws of the universe, a spirit vastly superior to that of man.” I don’t even know why people still haven’t come to a conclusion about the universe.

  4. Roger V. Rude

The opposite of death is not life, it is birth. Both birth and death are portals, entry and exit points life uses for this plane of existence. The whole purpose of life is the evolution of awareness. How this all works is not really important. Awareness is.

  5. Anti

Since one can not remember anything before they were born, people should know what the absence of one’s own life is.
The most plausible conclusion is that when you die, you go back to that state. When you die, that’s it. No more you. Now, this of course is very very or in fact impossible to accept by people desperately trying to survive, but… that really is the most plausible explanation. We think we’re special. Except, we’re not.

  6. Mike

Okay, Anti. I don’t remember anything before I was born. I didn’t have this brain to remember anything prior perhaps. It was a new brain with no memory. So when we die. We go back to the state we were before we were born and that is it. Really. Nothing else. You believe it was a state before we were born. If that is all, the state that I was previously in could not have come self aware in the first place. If that state can become aware once. What in this universe is stopping it from becoming aware once again? I need that to be explained

Nice article but i have a lot of questions in mind.First of all, does population increase means more souls though population can be controlled manually. Also, what about premature deaths and does how a person die like natural or accidental play any role.

There are extensive mathematical evidence pointing to the theories mentioned here. There are labs and entire university departments experimenting in projects related to consciousness, producing appealing evidence of what is said here. Obviously this article is no place for that type of discussion but that does not implies there is no hard fact science behind. As always, science fundamentalist assault any new idea until eventually the new ideas became the new paradigm. Is a normal process…

GOD IS DEAD AND SO IS “LIFE AFTER DEATH”

We now know, of course, that the brain is intimately connected with mental activity. Injuries to the brain can alter cognitive abilities, personality and perception. Changes in brain chemistry can also have the same effect.

There’s no ” non-physical substance” that appears along some phylogenetic branch of our evolutionary history, nor a point in ontogeny during which we receive a mental infusion of mind-stuff. We have burgeoned from Ambrose Bierce’s (an American editorialist, journalist, and satirist) definition of the mind as “a mysterious form of matter secreted by the brain.”

In fact, it appears the mind is just the brain. A core tenet of Marvin Minsky’s (a world-renowned MIT cognitive scientist) philosophy is that “minds are what brains do.” If we want to understand the mind, we need look no further than the neuroscience and brain for the real answers.

Do we trancend to this other universe/world as we left this one. I mean if i die here now at 40 years old then would i present in the next world at 40?

We can clearly remember being children or seeing children being born in this life and we watch them grow…But if i came to “this” life as a baby and my mum carried me for 9 months then surely the life i had before i got here would have seen me die presumably as an adult.
That would pressume we simply dont trancsend to “Other” universes or awake in new realities after death.
If i started as a baby in this life but died an adult in my previous life then i would have in effect have been reincarnated and that cycle would/should continue life after life…No??

This article seems to suggest we may simply die but wake up in another reality where we are not dead and carry on as normal where we left off. If thats the case then stepping through this portal would assume we still be 40 years old (or whatever age death occurred) So how can we remember childhood?
    All a bit ridiculous really

    1. Everything

You are every single one of those realities

    2. maoshi

I’ve died multiple times. Trauma related events trigger flashbacks of other lives, past present, and future in other universes. I can see the forks and splits everyday. Meditation helps me connect, too, allowing me to “stick” events, people, objects, etc. in the universe I want to stay in. I can manipulate my past, present, future in parallel and congruently. Quantum playground.

  17. Jason Flatt

I see you are similar to president Obama. You say things that have no relevance to the topic. We all know what a hypothesis is genius. Actually everybody learns these things in 7th grade. They are talking about multiple scientists (that’s plural) and physicists having proof to support their claims. And every piece of proof is a piece of the puzzle. When you put the puzzle prices together it makes a whole picture. PROOF of anythings existence is not a hypothesis. The theory is what they all mean.

  18. Jack

Intresting article but it is still 90% speculation with some very minor evidence (small ammounts of evidence but not enough to prove the theory) I think that this could be pissible but they actualy need to prove the multiverse theory before jumping to conclusions based on theories. Plus nobody has yet been able to transfer the soul or find what generates the soul in the body.

I think it’s safer to say the chonchessness shuts down like a computer OS. Proabably still in the storage but not accessible after the body and brain dies. I honestly don’t believe in the heavan/hell idea. I believe that is just a way to controll people who are not smart enough (werent tought morals) to know about moral values on their own then people who are tought that pass these teachings to their kids and so on. That’s why society is so adapted to religious controll as opposed to being dedicated to science. They are just afraid of what would happen to the ‘soul’ after death.

  19. Nina Haley

This may be all well and good if you were lucky enough to be born with a healthy body and mind and have experienced a relatively happy life, (so obviously, you’d want this to continue indefinitely in some parallel universe). But what about those who’ve experienced a truly awful existence, either as victims of cruelty, natural disaster or physical and mentall illness ? I doubt that any of these victims, both human and nonhuman, would really want a repetition of their hellish ordeal. That’s the worst case of “Groundhog Day” I’ve ever heard of and makes the idea of Death quite reassuring by comparison. And what about patients with brain damage or physical deformity – do they continue to exist in these parallel worlds in the same condition they left this one ? What a terrifying concept ! As the saying goes, be careful what you wish for, (life after death), as it might come true !

    1. Morten

(old post I know) If the theory is correct. Then even if you have a unhealthy body or mind now, it might be different in your “other” lives. The theory is based on small changes, but nearly identical and unlimited. So even your lucky to be born rich, healthy, and live a wonderful happy life, your other lives could be just the oposite.

I must confess that this multiverse theory is a bit more science fiction too me, but as long as it is not “proven” wrong, it might be real. Anyway it’s much more plausible then the heaven/hell theory many religious people insist excist. But hey, that might be the case as well. No one knows for sure.

      1. Meribast

I think that the information used as “proof” doesn’t necessarily lead to the conclusions these “scientists” have made. It doesn’t mean that some elements aren’t correct, that the conclusion is not correct but merely that you can’t reasonably conclude what has been concluded from the data presented. Usually other scientists “throw the baby out with the bathwater.” Galen is often dismissed because of the concept of humors is considered laughable. However the concept of using small amounts of harmful substances to help people actually works – vaccines is an outgrowth of that thought. It also works for immune therapies for allergy treatment and exposure therapies. Yet, most western medicine has written off his work and attributed the results to newer people, whereas the underlying theory was created centuries before. The other thing is that medicine isn’t an exact science and most practictioners don’t care about the whys and wherefores, they are plodders just like most scientists. Physicists didn’t need to know the absolute nature of subatomic particles to be able to build an “atomic bomb” much like chemists don’t have to know what the effect of a drug will be on the body 20 years from now in order to make a drug that might help some people and harm others. Know the reality that you don’t know a lot yourself that you can verify 100% and that you rely on the veracity and honesty of others for all the rest.

  20. David Robbins

The problem supporting or refuting the argument of the multi-verse is one of limited intelligence of a human being. Logic and reasoning is a premise we all(most)understand, but other universal tools may exist in the universe beyond our comprehension which is biased by our human teachings. I don’t believe in heaven/hell either, but immortality may be possible; I have belief that whatever our limited intellect can imagine is possible. The idea that the present physical life, being high or low quality may be irrelevant and not an expectation in an afterlife.
(my speculation) I actually think it is possible that an epiphany is a signal from a multiverse sent to a mortal for improvement in culture. Those classified as visionary may be identified as the receivers able/willing to execute the idea.

  21. Dala

We assume that the teachings we have received through our lives are true. BUT LOOK AT QUANTUM PHYSICS! Things exist everywhere at once, the world is made of MULTI-DIMENSIONAL STRINGS OF ENERGY! Is it really so strange espicially in matters of Astrophysics to consider un induced, natural immortality and preservation of consciousness through parallaxes. I mean come on, it’s not like it’s weirder than what we already know.

    1. Joe

I think the cornerstone of this argument is the double-slit experiment. It changes everything. By observing an event we directly influence it. We change it. Reality is not the same if we do not observe it. Robert Lanza hypothesizes that in order for reality to exist we MUST exist and that without us there is no universe and therefore we will always exist. The universe would cease to exist if we simply no longer existed.

      1. Alex

No not at all that’s not what that means. An observer doesn’t mean a human being, if you had any matter that interacted with anything on a quantum scale that would be an “observer”. This fits the theme of this whole article and book though. People who don’t actually learn the physics, ignore math and play around with and tamper with (to disasterous effects) knowledge of quantum behaviour. The many worlds interpretation doesn’t necessarily even affect macroscopic systems. It’s present to explain a phenomena known as wave function collapse… Please keep in mind your wishful thinking and disregard for science is just that. Wishful thinking. The science here is fundamentally incorrect.

      2. Alex

By the way, what I said near the end applies to virtually everyone on this thread. If you want to actually learn about QM instead of confidently asserting… Whatever you are all asserting, then feel free. But do leave all this nonsense at the door. It really has no place here and no respected or knowledgeable Physicist versed in QM would agree with these points.. It’s. Not. Science. It isn’t a model, is useless, and no logic can be used to back this up. The examples and phenomena given in this article are either wrong or misunderstood. I.e. The definition of “observer” etc.

      3. Meribast

That’s reliance upon an observer effect and observer effect isn’t always direct. Also, you assume that only humans can be observers. I suggest that animals and plants would get along fine without humans except for those that have become reliant upon humans or those where the natural balance may have been irretrievably disrupted. I can misquote “If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to witness it, did it really happen” to be a more relevant “If a dog shits on the grass and no one is there to witness it, can I still step on the shit?” I can answer that from experience, the answer is “Yes.”

  22. Cullen

I’ve been considering parallel worlds, occupying the same space but they exist on different planes; typical 2 sides of the coin analogy. I’ve had numerous occurrences in my dreams (Don’t disregard with the neurology and psychology of dreams, consideration of anything, no matter how malleable is the mindset of the ponderous and free-thinkers.) where I’ve woke up in environments that show distinct similarities with the environment I’ve experienced in my lifetime yet they differ in subtle ways; one example being I had been dreaming but woke up in my friend’s room, from what I can recall the plot was it was after a party in our local city, I had been walking over people who had drunk themselves into deficiency. The room was orange which I knew wasn’t the case, from my recollection her room was green. She requested corn flakes, I responded with “I thought you didn’t like cornflakes?” Simple, structured conversation. Walking down the stairs I attempted to recall the crazy night I had but there was issues in my ability to recall what I had done. As the answer was in my reach I had faded out of that reality (I assumed it was correctional, like there was some bio-recognition that assimilated with consciousness, myself experiencing that reality was just an error that had to be corrected. After that I returned to my body and since I had a very vivid memory of what exactly happened the idea has been thought-provoking material.

It’s evident in such varying degrees that the conclusion I’ve made (which is there are other realities that do exist), it’s unscientific, seemingly no methodology to validate this observation and as a product, rendered abstract and subjective; not scientific in any degree.

I’m aware thr idea is fallacious in nature as a situation that explains everything coherently (What I’ve posited some dream-like states are- experiencing alternate realities) yet has no evidence acting as a premise is fallacious, but I can not completely erase the idea from my mind. I don’t care if it sounds crazy, illogical, irrational and any other belittling insult you consider my experience to be. I cannot know for sure, I doubt I’ll come to an adequate conclusion anytime soon. What was considered dumb-founded, nonsensical theories are now regarded as the paradigm of modern science, such as darwninism being a widely accepted foundation for what biology is contingent on; evolution. Each cell, organism, protein all having an intrinsic and evolutionary function.

Obviously, mine isn’t in great depth such as biology. Just to avoid dismiss, I’ve experienced multiple dreams like the one above, I just used this one as an example.
Quantum mechanics would be suggestible that my experience could be valid if consciousness was put in terms of sub-atomic particles. Quantum entanglement would also suggest there could be a connection with yourself between other planes, a sea of information and knowledge that are interwoven ans transferable.

    1. Alex

THIS ISNT WHAT THOSE WORDS MEAN. Please… People stop using things you have not learned about. You are defacing modern science. Even if I humour your last comment, despite how uninformed it is: entanglement means that with two entangled particles or systems, with a change of spin to one particle, the other would change to be antiparallel. (Not spin as in around an axis, it’s a quantum phenomena.) However if one was to change the spin of one particle in one universe (putting aside all other inconsistencies and errors with this assertion) and the other particle in another universe followed suit… This would break a fundamental law of physics known as conservation of angular momentum, as the universe would gain or lose a unit of spin. (This is because the other entangled particle would inhabit another universe and therefore the spin wouldn’t balance).

Even if there are macroscopic varying universes (IF!) then there is no contact between them or way to “transcend” them. So many laws would be broken, and so would common sense.

This is just like when people think time is infinite (technically wrong) and therefore time travel is possible (wrong as far as we know and is literally completely unrelated to what they previously said.)

      1. Meribast

Everything you’re talking about is a theory. There’s really no “common sense” with subatomic theory. Laws are predictions of future behavior based upon previous data of past behavior. Where have you observed particle spin and observed any of which you speak in actuality? Computer models =/= observation of phenomena. That you haven’t observed it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist, but its not proof of anything except you haven’t observed it, but observing it, doesn’t mean it will always happen, either.

  23. Joe

Listen I love science but understand very little of it. It seems when it comes to Quantum Mechanics and other strange Physics one can theorize anything. At times I feel the human being is indeed very unique then at times I say well we murder and kill without pity or remorse so in that sense were worse than animals. But I digress. Perhaps it’s the hope within me that ultimately sees human beings different. No Animal seemingly has our high level of consciousness. No Animal seemingly even contemplates life after death. So why do we? Is the answer simply evolution? If so how did we get so cursed? Much better to live with only food, sex, predator avoidance and play on our mind than to be burdened with all this other stuff. Yet if evolution is the answer we are indeed the most cursed of all animal species. So in short I choose to believe that Quantum Conscience is a real possibility. I in short don’t think were a high conscience creature by accident. Perhaps it’s not a God thing but a universe thing. Perhaps on some level they are high conscience atoms, or even smaller high conscience particles that we can’t see or measure currently. Perhaps those high conscience particles that somehow gravitate to large complex brains! I close by saying this to all those who think we die and go to non-existence. When I was born into this world my conscience came from nothing and when I die it will go into nothing then perhaps I can once again be reborn from nothing. It happened at least once for all of us why not again. Good Day.

    1. Meribast

The funny thing is that we can only conceive that we are the only creatures capable of doing what we do because we don’t have a shared language. People thought that animals didn’t feel, communicate or have memories when its obvious they do but “scientists” at earlier times were too stupid to see the plain evidence that nullified their unproven theories. Perhaps animals know that there is no point to thinking about these things and knowing that they know all they need to know to maintain homeostasis in the environment unlike “Man.”

  24. Blind Elephant

Its ok buddy, not everyone is capable of understanding all subjects. Its obvious you don’t have the gifts which is possessed by the few which understand through first hand experiences. Your brain is just not advanced enough to understand this subject. With that being said I understand your anger and frustration. Just because you don’t get something doesn’t give you the right to doubt the research and theory put into place. Do the honorable thing and return to your level of consciousness/intelligence peacefully. Its clear you don’t belong at this level. Have a nice day and good luck trying to understand thee enhanced and more evolved minds in this world.

    1. Spence

I couldn’t have said that better. Spot on!

  25. Anthony A Nathan

I have written about parallel world existing and that our soul or consciousness still exists even after our death. I felt our lives are very precious to just end when the body stop functions. The consciousness travels to another universe to join another body to continue another journey in our infinite life circle.
I have a theory that if you’re good in this universe your consciousness you’ll be fused with a body that will match your temperament. You have different stages of your journey. The purpose is to give you all the opportunity in your first life and thereafter your Karma will lead you to your next journey.
Therefore being born in this universe is to prepare you for the infinity of life. It’s in your hands how the next journey will evolve depending on your performance in this universe.

  26. Theresa Kim

This notion of transmutable consciousness has been around for thousands of years. The earliest record of this can be found from the Vedic civilization (early India). The science of self-realization that derives from this ancient civilization dictates that the objective of human life is to realize one’s relationship with God and to know-in body, mind, and soul-that we are one with the omnipresence of God. It states the belief that human life is attained after an evolution of many millions of years in the cycle of the transmigration of the spirit soul. The science of self-realization asserts that as fallible living entities, we have two phases of existence. One is called material existence, which is full of the miseries of birth, death, old age, and disease, and the other is spiritual existence, in which there is an incessant spiritual life of eternity, bliss and knowledge.

Human consciousness is equivalent to the soul. This consciousness/soul is energy and energy is indestructible. It can only be transmuted into a different form. When our bodies expire, our souls enter into the fourth dimension and beyond. As you can see, this is where the concept of reincarnation derives. Quantum theory supports this ancient belief system of the soul and its relationship to the Universe, an infinite, balanced structure that our tiny minds cannot even begin to fathom.

For many people, the concept of death as an illusion is difficult to believe, as we can only perceive the world in the third dimension. Our society and its many institutions were designed to distract people from self-realization and humankind’s relationship to the grand Universe with earthly pleasures and materialism. Humanity is imprisoned by fear, guilt, and frustration- these emotions limit us significantly in the way we think and perceive our Universe (or rather lack of perception). Only by opening our hearts and minds can we escape these limitations and reconnect with our infinite self. Love is the answer. God is love. Even Einstein died believing in the existence of God.

It is not your job to nit pick every scientific theory, as so many of you love to do. No scholar, scientist or philosopher has ever discovered the beginning of the cosmos or its limitations. It is our jobs as humans to detach from this material world and strive for a greater knowing of our spiritual relationship to the Universe through self-realization (yoga and meditation are ancient practices that strive for this). Only then can we accept the true notion of immortality via the transmutability of the soul or consciousness.

  27. john

The only problem i have with this theory is where do u draw the line on your definition of conciousness. Its all fine and well saying that particles have 2 states/forms but until measured the probabilty distribution determines which state they exist in… to then say that this transfers from one universe to another in the same form is a conpletely different theory. The two are conpletely different suggestions.

Back to my original point, where do u draw the line? So are u saying that this fly i just swatted in my conservatory actually isnt dead but there is a probability that the flys conciousness has transported into a fly in another universe or in time? Or wait… perhaps a fly is not as developed as we are in out arrogance thinking our evolved being warrents this gift. Plus there is evidence about to come out soon which shows dolphins have a more developed brain than we do and have the potential to learn at an accelerated rate higher than humans. So perhaps this just applies to humans and dolphins only then

I am also reading responses on ppls understand of quantum mechanics and its hilarious really. The fact is noone really knows why this happens in the way it does, or why our reality is only one possibility among many outcomes… all we can do is observe and hopefully replicate these principles in nature to further our abilities. I.e. quarks and their spins and quantum compiters, entanglement and encryption, and so on.

  28. Luiza

One of the reasons we strongly believe in the existence of parallel universes is the reincarnation, since after the death of the human body the Spirit moves in another dimension, going reincarnate in another body, in another dimension, in another universe.

A proof of this fact is that through the very deep hypnoanalysis can be seen that already live before, which proves that the memory stores all past experiences, present.

The successive Reencarnções are a very real proof that the human mind evolves every Reincarnation happens, and I would even say that dreams serve as a sampling of these livings that are either past, present and even the future, all hypotheses must be considered.

This is my point of view and would like to have opinions on the subject.

What if the multiverse exists within this singular universe but at different “times”? Imagine the universe expanding and contracting infinitely throughout all of eternity, independent from conscious observation. Everything from the “big bang”, to “heat death”, re-contraction of the universe, all the way until another big bang. Now imagine this process repeating itself constantly and infinitely behind our veil of consciousness and perception of time. Perhaps when we die a bookmark is placed where we left off until the universe randomly regenerates an alternate route for our DNA specific consciousness. Time and consciousness is perceived through our bodies(our bodies are just a specific code), so when our bodies stop working there’s no buffer between alternate realities…but who knows….we shouldnt dismiss possibilities just because we cant fit it within our understanding of reason. Maybe theres other mediums of reality that we cant perceive. even though the amount of time that has passed is incalculable.

  30. Buck Ofama

How can they “prove” a multiverse, when they can’t get to it? Otherwise, it’s just theory.

  31. JIM ANTO

    Dear all,

My Search from my childhood (Intuition at age 10 or below: Parallel consciousness called then as Parallelism), get a green signal, some others of this universe has similar understanding in their consciousness. The content seems to be true, however i am proceeding with my Search.

  32. BillionNbillions

The verse we exist in has only so many ways of organizing the finite number of particles. Once we die, all sense of time stops. There could be any number of gazillion of centuries before matter is organized that has the same combination of particles that existed in your previous life, stepping out of one verse into another instant oust from the passed person’s perspective. That scenario seems like it could only be true. In some verses, it may be possible to have the configurations of particles that model memories in previous lives, because if it can happen it will happen an infinite number of times given an infinite amount of time.

    1. Ryan

This is the exact theory I’ve tried many times to explain to people. Given an infinite amount of time, anything and everything can and will happen infinitely many times. Meaning we’ll all live this exact same life again, and we’ll live every possible slight variant, and wildly different variants. If we assume that our consciousness is simply dependent on the positioning of the atoms that make up our brain, body, whatever, then these atoms will arrange themselves in this exact organization again and again over infinite time.

      1. omgpeopleunderstandthis

EXACTLY! If the Universe has a beginning and an end, which scientists seem to think it does, then in fact, we should end up in some parallel universe after we die, with spacetime not being a variable when we get ‘transferred’.

      2. GroundhogLife

I´ve Been Thinking About this a lot in the last few years!
I Believe that Life is Just Like the Movie “Groundhog Day”. Although the story depicts a man living the same day over and over again, I think that in reality, we’re confined to this life and this era we’re living now, for all eternity, but with the ability to, after death, transfer all the Knowledge and experiences we lived in this Life, in this Universe. This is Life Number One. And I Believe this is The first One Because We’re Living in a Universe where our parents met each Other and therefore We were Born.
I´ll Try to gather all the relevant information that I need in this Life, in Order to Have a Better One when I die. I Don’t want to get to know some People again, and I’ll definitely Avoid all the Mistakes that I’ve Made…
The Only Thing that intrigues me in this theory of mine is The “Checkpoint after death”. Will I Wake Up with Seven Years Old in my Grandmother’s house? I’ll Only Know when I’ll die… 🙂

      3. Dean

Ryan, why do you think that when we die our consciousness goes back in time to relive the same life ? If you were to believe that that the particles could be built the same- what makes you think when my particles get remade exactly as they are right now- that I will be born in 1993 again
User ‘BillionsNBillions’ said before you it could take gazillions of centuries for the particle build up to be the same again
Why would I exp the same era
        I don’t get that part

        1. r s v

Dean, Imagine you’re playing a game where the character needs to go through a maze filled with traps. You Won’t be able to avoid all the traps in that maze at first try. You could be lucky enough and get to the finish in one move, but most of the times we can’t. That’s why games have the ability for us to try again and avoid those dangers. We memorise the best path in order to finish it. There are also checkpoints that we can choose from to try different approaches.
I Believe that Life is Just like a Game. Your Life is your Game in your era. Play it wisely.

I love the fact that this comment section is actually full of logical people and nt fanatic atheists or the other way around.Unfortunately i donthave an idea for you , i believe there is surely something after we depart from this life and our bodies. Thanks you all for your exapmles and theories , thanks guys!

      1. Sean

I, myself, am an Atheist and I find this theory to be extremely intriguing. I can’t completely believe it as there is no definitive proof, however, I love the idea and it is something I have thought about for many years now, even before any official theories have come to light. I have found myself in many scenarios throughout my life where the likelihood of death was nearly 100%, however, I am still alive. I have never been in, or witnessed, a vehicle accident, first-hand. I have survived alcohol poisoning twice, without hospitality. I have experienced many different types of drugs, some with high chance of death. I am still here. No brain damage. Nothing wrong. Why is that? I am a man of evidence so I cannot say it is God, however, what I can say is that there is something that has prevented my death, countless times. Whether I have been extremely lucky, protected by the hand of some God, having my consciousness transferred between universes, I don’t know. But this theory, out of all that I’ve heard, seems the most plausible. I can’t say any of them are right or wrong, unless there is evidence to support one or the other, but I can say that in the coming decades, we will discover enormous amounts of knowledge, especially with the coming age of strong AI. Like I tell Christians and people of other faiths, I hope it is true.

  33. Sharon Howley

So if the person died due to brain death this would not be applicable?

    1. Meribast

Every body dies. Mere cardiac arrest =/= death. Brain death is death. I think people associate death and life too much with the brain when other living things do so without what science identifies as a brain. Biorganic, sessile life seems all about generating & maintaining a small electric field, once the electric field can’t be maintained, life, as we can perceive it now, ends. They missed Edgar Cayce’s “Akashic Library.” Essentially the largest database ever.

    2. Mr. Ewee

Saying if the multiple universes are created by the different out cones of our actions and the actions around us.The person would simply slip into a multiverse were you have not died. Now my theory is that the brain would view this as trauma and erase the memories of death in order to smoothly slip into the person’s new life in another multiverse. Also since the transfer is based on the last choice we made, the person would not see anything different or out of the ordinary.

      1. Phillip Wu

What I don’t understand with this theory is, if you slip into another life in another universe. Who or what consciousness was running that person before you slipped in?

        1. Camyljah

Did it even exist before you died? Did it just split from this reality to a new one when you died?

        2. Evan

I think that before you die, the universe splits into two universes, one where you didn’t die. Afterwards, you travel into that universe.

        3. mike

you must not think of time as anything other than an illusion, or at least we can’t comprehend the truth of space-time. You go into another dimension, it was always “you” in that body.

        4. Ray Paks

I read a book once which suggests the human body is a container, when you die, your soul (suspended in another dimension) waits on a container to become available and slips in. But it said you only transferred into the new universe/life as a new born.

    3. Briel

That is very interesting to think of. As I said in another comment, the brain is the most complex thing ever to be discovered and it creates our consciousness. But if you died due to damage to the brain… It seems like it would make more sense if that person did not continue. Or maybe there’s more to it than that. Nobody has proven souls exist. Stuff like that proves more than the fact that we don’t know if your blue is the blue I see yada yada. Maybe we just are there. We might create our own existence. After death on earth maybe we just disappear. As in religious terms, we go to heaven or hell. But there could be a better explanation.

  34. Saven

Please read the Bhawat Geeta. Consciousness is explained at length. The Geeta is a few thousands years old!

  35. Joe

First it does not prove any such thing at present. But if Stephen Hawking’s string theory, multiverse theory, can be taken serious then why not a theory that says consciousness is not produced by the body alone and death might be an allusion. I mean ask yourself this question! Why would the natural world potentially create, if string theory is right, infinite numbers of earths with infinite copies of me doing infinite different things or the same thing forever? So is my other selves conscious? One would assume they are. How fantastical is Hawking’s theory and how some laugh at it today. Multiple Universes are the stuff of science fiction yet Hawking says they might be real and folks give it credence. Yet put a theory saying consciousness might be quantum and death an illusion and you get laughed out of the building. The one thing I’ve learned about science and Phycisist is they choose to believe whom they want. In reality they don’t know anything for sure about the quantum world and they do formulas that say this might be or that might be. If I die and just poof out of existence then Stephen Hawking’s multiverse was not true and will be just the missives of a man who thinks to much of himself. There is absolutely no natural reason to have multiverses and endless copies of me unless consciousness was inter dimensional. In fact the more I think about string theory the more ridiculous it sounds. So if Stephen Hawking can get someone to take his ridiculous postulations to heart then why not Robert Lanza. Good Night.

What someone believes IS a theory. It can be a well reasoned theory, it can be a poorly reasoned theory or it can be in between. What you are describing is a scientific theory. If there weren’t other kinds, the fragment “scientific theory” would be considered redundant. Frankly, where most “science” fails is defining all relevant variables and/or interpreting data.

  38. Jake Oxe

Many many valid points, all with their own credit and believable support, but the one thing that I don’t see is progression…
Everything we know to exist at this stage has some form of progression,
Big bang, gas closeness to sins and planets, suns pump our gases and elements, form more planets. In our case proteins developed into complex proteins, caveman (sorry about the skip but I think you get the first) things improve or advance (for good or bad). Society, industrialisation and yada yada.
    But then what….
What if the multiverse is right and each of our consciousness is a part of the development and when we pass on, it generates another phase of development, with our own acquired interests and knowledge as the base for another chain of development.
So if I were intrigued by magnetism, my consciousness passes to a universe that has learnt to develope a society based on that as a primary source, rather than fossil fuels and electricity?
Every known step in evolution leads to an adapted existence, so why wouldn’t death result in an adapted(possibly improved) consciousness.
Not every step in evolution was a winner, yet life evolved.
So what if everyone is right.
We are all in our individual existence and at the same time in every one we knows.
Perhaps we are proof of multiverses interactions and Reliance upon each other?

  39. Tom Finn

So where was my consciousness before it inhabited my body?

    1. DaDaLife

Your Consciousness Was Born With You. It Didn’t Existed Before You…
You Are Living The First Life of Your Immortal Existence. 🙂

      1. Victor

Or the physical birth here is a necessary step to create the “computer” (brain) in which the transfer occurs in this dimension – not necessarily that a physical “birth” here creates the consciousness.

  40. douw kotze

    Douw Kotze’s theory
It could be that the Univers is only expanding because our brain is maped out more or less the same way, thus as a human is growing “it’s brain” or aging it is seeing it’s own atomic structures with in expanding .
The magnitude of distance , time and speed of the brain aging or expanding is the factor.
what i am saying is it could be that everything you see, feel and know is only there because the human brain made it so to be. It can only be there if you think about it.

  41. S. N. Tiwary

Matter and consciousness coexist simultaneously. Matter does not exist without consciousness or consciousness does not exist without matter. Hence, matter and consciousness are inseparable as particle and wave are inseparable. Particle is wave and wave is particle which is the law of nature. Matter is consciousness and consciousness is matter. Consciousness becomes matter and matter becomes consciousness.

All things they say are made of matter, most things should be and ought.
But still I often sit and wonder of matter which creates thought.

  42. Mike

It all sounds so confusing. The truth is I don’t see science or physics ever proving anything such as parallel universe. What happens after I die? I don’t know! Could my consciousness have always existed living among the so called multiverse infinitely? I think its plausible that if Hawking multiverse theory is to be taken seriously to at least consider the possibility that consciousness has always existed. I mean if the multiverse has an infinite number of copies of me in parallel universes then is that not me? I think therefore I exist? Perhaps there is no beginning or end to consciousness. Perhaps we can’t remember past lives because consciousness breaks down and reforms in other universes in a sort of natural cleansing? Perhaps I do wake up as myself over and over again with either the same life or a slightly different life in another universe. Perhaps human beings are not as insignificant as some scientists like to say. Perhaps were not merely specks in the universe. That does not mean there is a creator like the one in the Bible but perhaps something did create the universe and consciousness. I truly don’t know the truth of the matter. We either exist again or we don’t Quite honestly the question will likely never be answered because even if our consciousness does move between universes or exist across universes with our other selves some mechanism exist that prevents consciousness from remembering any past life it might have had. I am sure if what Mr. Lanza proposes is true that this is none of our first lifes. Yet we remember nothing of any possible past life. So in closing there will never be an answer to the age old fear of what lies beyond what humans call death if anything at all.

  43. roberto

The soul exsists as the electricity traveling through your entire being. Its the spark of life programmed to give our bodies animation and identity. Once you die and after awhile the electricity coursing through you eventually dissipates as if into thin air when in reality and in info i heard. Matter cannot be created or destroyed. That electricity going through you that makes you who you are, simply fades out of our realities frequency into another that it can sustain inself in and manifest.

  44. roberto

So if scientists can capture lightning in a bottle same goes for your fadeing soul. A small bottle that puts the electricty that makes you who you are in a infinite loop and then disperse it maybe into a new quantum computer like your brain used to be and bam new body new life.

  45. arun

As I know it, an electric field can be detected only by a charge however small it can be. If the charge were zero, there would be no way to contemplate a field even in principle. That is, without the charge, there is absolutely no way to ascribe reality to a field. Now can consciousness be detected without a body? I have been getting the impression that consciousness is more fundamental than bodies. But is it not the other way round, even in principle?

  46. Colin Elvis

Who coined the term “Universe”? – I think they knew something about multiple universes because otherwise why would they use a word that means “UNIFIED verses” or “Universe”.. With the average person’s understanding of space science being quite limited when the word was coined, the only concept of “what is out there beyond our Solar System?” that most people could relate to was UNIFIED verse, rather than the more accurate “Multiverse”.

Oh, right – I can Google that {Who coined the term “Universe”? } – I’ll get back to ya~

  47. Briel

I believe this to the fullest. This theory would explain a lot. Things such as deja voú, psychics and magicians. It just makes sense to me. If we are able to live here on earth it would only make sense that in some way, shape or form we continue this series of consciousness we have. Our brains are the most complex thing we have ever discovered right? I mean sure, we could be a brain in a jar owned by monkey aliens somewhere deep in a place we do not know of but if any life is possible this is too. Dark energy was proven to be real as it takes up a lot of the universe we know of. Sure we can track the heartbeat of a humming bird but to track death? Impossible. I do not mean knowing when one dies. I mean what happens after death. Religious people believe they live for one reason: for God. I’m not being judgmental but what if there is more to everything than that. Maybe God just is. Not was. God is not a person so maybe… God just is.

  48. Matt

I have no problem with Atheist. Atheism is simply a belief in no God. If Biocentrism is right or partially right it requires no God! If Consciousness is indeed quantum we simply exist in a multidimensional loop, perhaps like the movie Ground Hog Day or perhaps living slightly different lives in the multiverse. I’m not saying this theory is true because much like the multiverse theory of Stephen Hawking I don’t see a way to ever prove it. But for the sake of argument lets say that true death is an illusion and we simply exist over and over and over again in the multiverse. I mean for all practical purposes we would never know it. We would live again, and again and again asking the same unanswerable questions about death over and over and over. So in that sense we do die over and over and over and over again. I mean no magical reuniting with loved ones in some amazing afterlife. So if it is scientific requiring no God why protest it on such grounds. Sure you can be skeptical and not believe it but not based on God based on what ever else you cite. I personally think consciousness never dies but our current reality does. So in a sense we do die forever in one universe. Good Day.

When you die you just simply die, lights out no pain no stress no feeling of your surrounding just nothing like before you where born.
