You’ll know when someone is not right for you. Maybe your mind will not automatically understand, but your body will send signals that things are not as they should be.
It’s not always blatantly obvious when someone is not right for you. Sometimes, it’s the vague feelings you get from time to time. Maybe you feel unheard or just uncomfortable around them. Whatever you experience should not be ignored. It’s important to pay close attention to these feelings.
There are many different feelings you might get when your body and the universe are trying to tell you that someone is not right for you. For instance, the atmosphere can literally feel different, as if it’s thicker and darker.
People who are not good for each other do not wish each other the best. Sometimes they think selfishly, refuse to communicate, and make excuses for this behavior. While your mind may brush it off and temporary mood shifts, etc., your body will know when something more serious is happening.
Let’s look at a few vague feelings you might get when someone is not right for you.
Do you feel like your partner may be isolating you from your friends and family? If so, maybe you should consider this and talk with your significant other. Maybe they aren’t consciously isolating you, but you have that strange feeling anyway. And it’s possible that this feeling is letting you know that this person isn’t right for you.
And that’s the truth of the matter: if you are being pulled away from others due to jealousy, insecurity, or other problems they have, then the relationship is probably not for you.
Your intuition will always kick in and let you know when something doesn’t feel right. It’s literally a sick feeling in the pit of your stomach that serves as an alert system. It’s important to pay attention to your intuition and take note of when it happens and if it happens frequently around your partner. This could be a warning sign that they are not the one.
Your body is so attuned to what’s healthy and what’s not. It will react to things that aren’t good for it. When a person’s natural smell is bothersome, it could prove that someone is not right for you. Yes, it’s true, smells can alert to issues other than physical ones.
There’s a theory that smells can reveal someone’s immune response and whether it’s compatible with you or not. It’s designed for survival.
If someone is not right for you, there may be a lingering feeling of unresolved resentment. This could happen after an argument or altercation. You should pay close attention to this.
In healthy relationships, couples strive to resolve differences fairly. But in unhealthy relationships, this doesn’t usually happen, and resentment develops. Resentment is one of the strongest vague feelings that a person is not right for you.
In healthy relationships, there should be a balance between the two of you. Neither one of you should try to control the other. But sometimes, you might feel a strange imbalance of power, especially if your partner is pressuring you to do something or act in a certain way.
This is a huge red flag, and you should heed this warning. It could be that you aren’t with the person you should be. They may be all wrong for you; in fact, if they are controlling you covertly, then they are definitely not who you want to spend your life with.
If you aren’t utilizing healthy communication, your body will let you know. A lack of communication can make you sick, even physically sick, because when you try to express concerns, your partner doesn’t take them seriously.
Your whole system will be screaming that something is terribly wrong. You know this, and you feel it. But because you want the relationship to work so badly, you try to ignore it. But the feeling doesn’t really go away.
No matter how hard you try to sweep these feelings and indicators under the rug, they will be noticed. As I mentioned above, you may even become physically sick due to holding in resentment and anger toward your partner.
Love and healthy relationships are not like this. And maybe you’ve endured so many unhealthy relationships that you don’t know what healthy relationships are like. That is the most unfortunate part.
But trust me, healthy relationships are not like this. In good relationships, there is communication, a feeling of ease, and overall good mental health. Yes, we all have arguments and disagreements, but there’s a difference between fulfillment and toxicity.
And since learning is a lifelong process, you shouldn’t beat yourself up if you’ve been through a toxic situation or two, even multiple instances. It’s not your fault that someone mistreats you. But it’s important to learn what’s normal and abnormal when it comes to relationships.
I hope this post helped you recognize and name some strange feelings you may have gotten. And I hope it gives you the strength to do what’s best for you.
Sending my love!
