A spiritual transformation is a change – to a greater or lesser extent – to someone’s outlook, or to their attitude, towards spirituality and sacredness.

Many things can trigger this spiritual awakening, from a simple event to a more complex unfolding of events over time. While some people may be lucky in having a transformation which is relatively painless, others are not so fortunate. For them, a spiritual event is quite an uncomfortable and even painful experience.

If you are not sure whether or not you are going through a spiritual transformation, read on. Below are some signs that you should look out for.

1. Things fall apart

One sign of spiritual awakening is that you will find your life beginning to fall apart. Transformation can only take place when there is space in your life for change. This change can be big or small, but any changes in your life which lead you to new ideas or new circumstances count.

Things crumbling away can be difficult at first, but don’t worry; this is normally a sign that whatever you lost was no longer serving your best interests. It is giving way for something new.

2. Life is confusing

Spiritual transformations are not always easy to understand; quite often, we find ourselves lost and confused in the face of what is going on. Transformations which affect our lives can be frightening. We are adrift on strange seas with no idea of where we are going, or even if we will get there.

Normally, we are very clear on what we know and what we see. This allows us to keep ourselves grounded in our own lives. When this becomes confusing, the effects can be terrible. We lose the ground under our feet to our spiritual transformations.

3. Trust is lacking

We are used to being able to trust in certain things and people. This is how we get through the day, after all. When we know about the people next to us and the job in front of us, we feel secure, and we feel in control. A spiritual transformation can lead to all of that being taken away from us at a stroke, leaving us lost.

Being unable to trust anybody or anything can make navigating the world at large very difficult – although it is normally temporary. When we transform spiritually, it can often mean that we lose touch with the people and tangible objects we once enjoyed. They will be replaced, but until they are, it can be a very lonely time.

Transformations are not easy at the best of times, and losing your connections to people you once turned to for help make them even less so.

4. The world hurts

This is not in reference to becoming more sensitive (although that can happen – see the next item in the list). Even the most outgoing and extroverted individuals can become withdrawn and silent due to their own spiritual transformations, and it can happen to you too.

Withdrawing from society can be a result of simply not wanting to be around anyone while things are happening. It can also be the result of your transformation leading you away from the company you normally keep and into company which is more conducive to the person you are becoming.

5. Everything hurts

Part of a spiritual transformation may include someone becoming more sensitive to the world around them as a whole. This can manifest in a number of ways:

They can become more sensitive to what is going on in the world at large – news reports, knowledge of pollution and ground-clearing, seeing the everyday pain that happens in the world – all of this can suddenly become more intense, and less easy to ignore.

This sensitivity can also manifest in more personal ways; where someone once loved to watch things like Spartacus and Game of Thrones, they might find themselves moving towards less violent and less explicit fare when experiencing a spiritual transformation.

Transforming to another person spiritually can mean that you become more aware of the beauty which is inherent in the world. Conversely, you can also become less tolerant of the cruelty which is also inherent in it, and be less able to shrug it off and continue with your life as you had before.

You may find that you are less able to handle the violence which we have come to expect as normal in our popular culture as a whole.

6. Depressions are likely

It is unlikely that you will become medically depressed while undergoing a spiritual transformation, but be aware of the possibility.

People who are undergoing spiritual transformations can find themselves experiencing the extremes of emotions while they go through it. Those emotions can be light-hearted and happy, but they can also be deep depressions and sadness too.

Transformation at a spiritual level is something that can lead to huge changes in outlook and personal experience. This, in turn, can lead to changes in mood, since turbulent events and a loss of trust in the world around can be quite traumatising.

I immiediatley began to cry upon reading this.. I am, have been,
    For what seems, too long,
been experiencing all things written about in spiritual transformation.
I feel a bit of relief.. Knowing what im experiencing.. But still devastated
That this is what its come to..
I have been sooo sad.. Daily.
And while not suicidal.. I have found that Death.. Suicide.. Does not scare me like it used to..
    I feel that i can feel..empathize..
    understand and know.. Why
    People are becoming wreckless..
    careless..hopeless.. Hence.
    The overdosing deaths..
And the suicides.. I recently watched..
On.. TED talks..the bridge between life and death.. And again i cried.
    I am so emotionally unstable.
Nobody wants to share their time with somebody like that.. (Me)
    Thanks for the article.

I haven’t even read the article yet, and I teared up from just scanning the headers. All six resonate. I found my way here after looking up what 333 means.

I’ve experienced spiritual transformation multiple times in my life but this one I am more aware of. It’s like I consciously manifested it. I am way stronger than I have ever been and I am more optimistic than I ever been. I am more determined and stick to a prayer, meditation and affirmation routine. I am just more confident as a whole. I’ve been seeing a crazy amount of number sequences from the Angels for the past 2 years now. 111, 222, 333, 444, 555, 1111, 1122, 1133, 1144, 1155, 1010, 1212, 1222. I am telling you it’s BANANAS. My boyfriend is even starting to see them along with me now. He’s obviously my twin flame.

I have my days where I feel a little worried or confused but deep down inside I know there’s great things that are manifesting in my life. ❤️
