The clothes you wear, the way you walk, your facial expressions, the tone of your voice, your body language, the music you prefer and your hobbies can say a lot about your personality.

Everything connected with someone shows different parts of their personality, and, having some knowledge of the relevant psychological topics, you can see what you have never noticed before.

What Does the Way You Walk Reveal about Your Personality?

For example, your gait not only reflects your personality but also your current mood.

If you are feeling happy, then, most likely, your gait will be energetic, and the speed of your walk will increase. When people feel confident and bold, they move with big strides, and, as a rule, outrun their friends while walking.

Some people have a lot of pressure on the ground when walking, but not because of the heavy weight but because of their persistence in life. Persistent people usually walk with heavy steps, strongly stepping on the surface. Persistence is a good sign, but it is worth noting that this type of gait can also be caused by a simple lack of flexibility.

Some people tend to move slowly, dragging their feet behind them, just as if they do not have the energy to move normally. A lack of energy usually reflects sad feelings or depression, but it also may be associated with fear and uncertainty of what awaits the person in the future.

“Cat” gait in women is usually a sign that a person is just like trying to say: “Hey, everyone, look at me”. The same is true for the men who walk as if they are models for the fashion show.

Walking with your hands in your pockets can be a sign that you are not satisfied with your self-esteem or the clothes you are wearing.

If your head is up while walking, it could mean that you are in a good mood, while the head down most likely means that you are not feeling well.

As you can see, the way you walk reveals a lot about your personality and emotional state at any given moment. You can also learn a lot of interesting things about other people.

To practice this people-reading skill, try a simple exercise: the next time you are in a busy street, watch the way passers-by walk and try to decode their personality. How are they feeling at the moment?

Not only will this exercise help you learn to read people’s personalities, but it will also enhance your empathy.

Great post. I guess all of these “behaviors” are done unconsciously. And I wonder if you consciously change your behavior can you somehow change your personality? What do you think?

Hello again, I am afraid I must comment on this quiz as well. I see that this is another quiz that is not handicap friendly. I am not sure why this society is so focused on stupid things. The way a person walks can say things about how they are feeling, and what they want to show the world about them. However, I am not able to walk due to a jousting match 8 years ago. I would love to see a quiz about people in wheel chairs, and how the different speeds a person goes in their wheel chairs can show their emotions as well. Please understand, that this is the second quiz I have attempted and could not complete it for myself. Thank you and good day.

Assuming that you are legitimately handicapped and not just a troll or “ironic” SJW trying to facilitate a guilt trip from comment readers…

Coming from someone who understands what it is like to have a handicap, my recommendation is to BROWSER SEARCH – “how the different speeds a person goes in their wheel chairs can show their emotions” – if you want to take a quiz or read someone’s opinion on that subject.

There are people who walk. Therefore there will be quizzes and articles about walking.
There are people who practice law. Therefore there will be quizzes and articles about law.

I’m not a lawyer, so quizzes and articles related to law will not usually be relevant to me. That doesn’t mean I go complain on law site articles about how they aren’t “layman friendly”.

If you can’t walk, find something that is relevant and interesting to you instead of whining and go read that instead.

I find myself walking while constantly looking down, road here is uneven could trip if not careful.
I walk slowly and with little to no noisy footsteps, it always gives people a scare though I don’t mean to do that. 😮

I noticed the correlation of walking with my head down and being depressed. It seems the more life dumps on me the more I withdraw. Walking with my head down and not engaging with people is a self defense measure to mitigate interaction with others and possible avoid another negative encounter. It seems anyone I talk to about this has ideas like, “snap out of it” or “man up”, which only create more negative pressure. Then there is the Rx of the day which is a very slippery slope. Zoloft is very effective for depression, however the drawback is numbness to the point you have no feelings for anything, creating a personal Zombee Apocalipse. Then if your psychiatrist is anything like mine WAS ,he will prescribe you Amphetamine Salts for energy and Colonapin to take the edge off. Imagine for a minute you have a life changing event like divorce, foreclosure, abandonment, broken ankle and court to decide if you are going bankrupt; all the while running your business in a small town where everyone knows you and some realtors are posturing to get your home for investment purposes.
I still walk with my head down out of shame, regret and withdrawal because those who I trusted were all the same, untrustworthy. Now nothing is sweet, nothing feels good and my only true beliefs are bing attacked.
Focus and persistence must be attained, getting up on a daily basis after falling again is all one can do when you find yourself bombarded by forces no one can see and only you can feel.
