The Law of Attraction is a popular self-growth method used and adored by both spiritualists and psychologists alike. It states that you attract what you are. This means that what you put out into the world, you get back for yourself.

It is based on the principle that like attracts like. This could apply to almost anything in your life that can be good, or bad. Romantic partners, friends, careers, and experiences can all be influenced by the power of attraction.

If you are dedicated enough to something, you can attract it to you with intention.

It is believed that if you focus enough on what you want, or don’t want, that will come to you. For example, if you are focused on getting a promotion, by thinking about it, imagining it, and considering it already done, then that promotion will be yours. If your mind is set on your future promotion, you will attract it to you.

Similarly, if you are stuck in a negative place, perhaps focused on your fears or doubts, those will come to you too. This could mean being so focused on fearing that your partner will leave you that you force your fears to come true.

Reasons You Attract What You Are

1. Your Thoughts Are Hyper-Focused

If you attract what your focus on, then you should be cautious not to let your thoughts get away from you.

Oftentimes we become fixated, or hyper-focused, on one train of thought. You might find yourself obsessing for days or weeks on end over things that make you anxious or feel depressed. This is a natural but hard cycle to break. This kind of obsessive thinking is exactly what the Law of Attraction is based upon though.

For example, you are stressed and your thoughts are all about that stress. According to the theory, this will only attract more stress to you.

On the other hand, if you are optimistic and your thoughts are positive and equally obsessed with the good things in your life, more positive things will be attracted to you.

If you are uncertain about why you are attracting certain circumstances in your life, take a look inward at where your thoughts are focused. As your hyper-focused thoughts dictate who you are, and you attract what you are, you have the power to choose whether negativity or positivity comes to you by overhauling the way you’re thinking.

2. The Strength of Your Self-Belief

The Law of Attraction only works if you truly believe that you deserve what you are trying to attract. As the theory goes, you attract what you are, and this means you have to wholeheartedly believe that you are, or can be, exactly what you’re hoping for.

People who use the Law of Attraction successfully have a genuine, strong sense of self-confidence and an unwavering belief that they can and will have whatever they desire.

In order to attract what you are, you have to be self-assured. If your thoughts are not as powerful and determined as they could be, your doubt will shine through. Whatever it is that you want, you have to believe you can have it. Any insecurity will result in mediocre results at best. If your thinking is only halfway, what you attract will be too.

3. Good Things Happen to Bad People

We’ve all heard the saying, and we all know people to whom this theory applies. Someone might be just awful, but they keep achieving their goals and good things just seem to keep happening to them, regardless of how little they deserve it.

If we apply the Law of Attraction, this is the result of their determined, unwavering confidence. When you attract what you are, what you are has to be set in stone.

We might think someone is a bad person because of their obvious arrogance, but that is exactly what is helping them attract what they want from life. They genuinely believe that they deserve success, sometimes to excess, but the stronger your belief, the better.

Fortunately, there is no need to let go of your morals just to increase your chances of attraction. You simply need to channel the kind of confidence these people have. They don’t seek approval or worry about whether they deserve good things, they just go out and get them. Their distinct lack of self-doubt only boosts their chances of attracting their goals.

4. The Influence of Karma

The Law of Karma also acts on the principle that you attract what you are, it only differs slightly in that Karma states that “what you put out into the universe will come back to you”.

Karma is a much more passive approach. The Law of Attraction requires you to attract what you are by much more active methods. While Karma works by doing acts and waiting for the universe to return something of equal value to you, the Law of Attraction requires you to deeply manifest what you want in order to attract it to you.

Sometimes, these two Laws can overlap and become confused (see; bad people getting good things!). For the most part, though, the two strengthen each other.

If your thoughts are focused positively on your goals and you are putting that good intention out into the world around you, then you will attract exactly what you want most. The universe will take kindly on you if you show it positivity and optimism.

5. Your Behaviours and Your Thoughts

In order to attract what you are, you need to think, live and be exactly that.

To attract success in your career, for example, you have to act and think as though it is already done. Head to work with the pride and effort of someone who has already achieved the promotions you want.

People who go about their lives as if they are already a total success, tend to become that anyway through sheer power of will. If you truly want to attract something, your behaviours have to match your thoughts.

You have to wake up every day and behave as if that is exactly what is going to happen. In order to attract what you are, you have to ensure that you are already whatever that might be.

This concept also applies in the reverse. You could live, breathe, eat, and sleep your goals. But if you have any doubt in your mind, it will be obvious in what you attract.

Self-doubt or a feeling that you aren’t worthy of achieving your dreams is enough to overshadow your outward confidence. To attract what you are, you have to whole-heartedly believe in what you are too.

Using the Law of Attraction, you attract what you are with intentional, direct thinking, and manifesting. Hyper-focus on exactly what you want from life can yield powerful results and a high success rate. Techniques like these have helped people all around the world achieve their dreams and so many people swear by it.

Whatever it is you want out of life, be it romance, career progression or academic success, or just more positivity in your day-to-day life, you can create a world where that will come right to you, just by dedicating yourself to the cause.
