We’ve all been in the situation of turning up late to important events.
However, if you have the reputation of always being the last one to arrive, then science suggests it could mean that you are much more optimistic, and optimistic people tend to be more creative.
People who are always late believe that they can get a lot more done in a shorter space of time and this leads them to be later than they expect to be. Although this doesn’t initially seem to be a good thing, it gives you a much more positive outlook on life and can make you much happier in life, which can only be a good thing.
Research from San Diego State University said that those who are often late are also better at multi-tasking and can cope with stress much better.
They are more relaxed in high pressured situations, allowing them to grow and adapt to difficult situations. Although it is the multitasking that can make you lose track of time, it also gives you a lot more benefits than downfalls throughout your life.
The ability to multitask can also make you much more likely to achieve success later in life. The ability to cope with high pressured situations, as well as taking on numerous tasks at once, can make you much more successful in a wide range of workplaces.
Employers are much more likely to employ and promote those who can cope with a lot of things on their plate whilst still performing to a high standard so that they can have the most efficient workplaces possible.
Not only do employers see it as a revered skill, the skill of multitasking and adapting can also make you much more successful at running a business, running a household, and being a successful student.
So not only do you have higher rates of success underemployment, you have a better chance of success in all other areas of your life.
Diana DeLonzor stated that “certain people are hardwired to be late” and that it is deeply embedded in the brain, so it’s also not totally your fault.
Although it doesn’t initially seem like a good thing you can get a lot of benefits from being the one who is always late to the party, just as long as your bad time keeping skills don’t leak into the most important aspects of your life.
