What If ‘God’ Is a Metaphor for Highly Advanced Technology?

Could our existence be a product of highly advanced technology? If yes, then our creator is not supernatural, as religion states, but super-technological.

This is not about the question of whether God exists or not. This is about what kind of God we really have.

There is God. And as a Christian, I have blindly believed this idea for so long and as far as I can remember.

I still believe it now but from a different perspective. Trust me when I say that it has not been easy to switch my spiritual beliefs and twist my faith.

But really, there is God. Though I have neither proof nor evidence to prove it, I prefer to believe it. Just in a little bit different way than what most people do.

There is God, but he is not supernatural.

He is not about ghosts, monsters, superheroes and other stuff that only a child could believe in. He is more than that.

The question about God’s own common sense cannot be fathomed by just telling people that His will is beyond our understanding. That is not giving justice about our Almighty Creator. I think that it is not fair to just assume that God is a magician.

For someone who masterminded the creation of a universe and the life forms in it, being a magician seemed like we are regarding God as just an entertainer, a sideshow without a grand purpose but to jest with our imaginations, gullible faith, and playful minds.

I refuse to see God as just a childish entity. He is more than what religious people think He is.

I believe that God is intelligent, far more intelligent than any beings ever existed in our midst.

He purposed His intentions of giving value to everything around us. And He is not someone that just decides and makes something without considering the consequences.

In the book of Genesis 1:27, “So God created man in His own image”. Yes, we look in the mirror and there is the likeness of God in our image. Therefore, God is within us. It is in our nature and in the very core of what we are and what we can do.

Also, God gave us free will: The power to decide our own fate. Whether we do good or evil, it is out of God’s hand. God’s will is only for us to drive our lives for a better future. May it be to serve Him or to make this world a better place?

If to imitate someone is to pay the person a genuine compliment, then it is just fair to say that if we imitate God, then we are serving Him and giving Him the sincerest compliment there ever was. And here is where God’s cycle comes in.

We are created in His own image and that includes the possibility to think like Him. No, we are far from being like Him. But He gave us the tool to learn and eventually discover the foundation of being like Him. And that tool is our brain or shall we say our mind.

Look around you. Advanced technology has had a lot of breakthroughs over the years. And these are the inventions of robots, cybernetic enhancements, and AI or artificial intelligence. Slowly, we are developing machines and other things that make up a human’s likeness over time.

I guess this is where we are heading after all: The quest to knowing and understanding God. We are not playing as Gods but we are following His will.

Why would God make us intelligent and have the ability to think rationally?

Surely, He gave us intelligence not because He wants us to just go to church and pray all day with our eyes closed. He gave us intelligence not just because He wants us to help the poor and the weak. You do not need intelligence for that, only kindness.

I believe that He gave us intelligence so we could learn and one day marvel at his genius and masterpiece. He gave us intelligence because He wants us to be more than just creatures who multiply. We are not creatures who just consume the resources of the Earth. No, I refuse to accept that shallow logic.

If you are a parent, wouldn’t you want your children to achieve great things? If possible, we want them to achieve greater things than what we have accomplished. Am I right?

Have you heard about Asimo?

Yes, the robot Honda Motors Co. has been developing for decades now. This adorable product of advanced technology can do a lot of things humans can do as well, like thinking, walking, running, jumping and other stuff we usually do.

If we come to think of it, slowly but surely, we are recreating God’s path to finally making something in our own image as well.

What I am trying to say is that God is not a magician but a scientist.

He did not magically create things – he created and used highly advanced technology. He thoroughly and carefully thought of it and made it through His own intelligence because He is more than a guy with a wand and magic dust. He is not supernatural but super-technological.

What do you think about my thought experiment?

Is God intelligent or do we just leave it to the old primitive beliefs that God is all about magic? Could we be a product of highly advanced technology? Share your opinion in the comments below.

  • I agree to a certain extent. I could get really deep with this. Too deep to explain over the internet. I really honestly know more than people would think about life. Some people would choose not to believe it and others would say that I am crazy because certain things don’t need to be in the public. Because of my background high officials would just think I am a nuisance. CIA, NSA, and other highly classified agencies in the US and the UK wouldn’t want to hear anything I have to say. Wouldn’t want to hire me for any type of occupation because I am considered a criminal. I have spoke with highly intelligent individuals and people who wouldn’t normally expose the things they know about the government and technology. Anyways. I would rather speak to someone who would actually be worth talking to.
