From what you eat to how much you earn, the subconscious mind has incredible power over the decisions you make. So how can you harness its illusive power? In this post, we’ll explain what the subconscious mind is and let you in on the secrets of how to reprogram it. Not only that, but we will help you start implementing these practices.
“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” Carl Gustav Jung
The subconscious mind operates beneath the surface of the normal conscious mind. Like a sponge, it absorbs the information derived from every one of our experiences.
In fact, the subconscious mind takes care of around 95% of your brain’s power. It works like a data-bank storing your experiences, memories, skills, and beliefs.
The subconscious mind rejects information that does not fit with your existing preconceptions regarding your world. It is formed during childhood when you, at first, accept everything you are told. This makes perfect sense because as a child, you have no preconceptions.
Effectively, it operates as your guidance system monitoring the information your conscious mind receives. You experience communication with the subconscious mind when you have an idea, remember something or experience emotion.
However, it is much more difficult for your conscious mind to communicate with the subconscious. This is because all of this information remains below your level of awareness. But it is possible. So, we can now turn to the ways reprogram your subconscious mind so that you can harness its transformative power.
It’s pretty obvious that if you don’t know where you want to get to, it’s impossible to get there. But once you do know what you want, by visualization, it is possible to achieve our goals.
Indeed, a Michigan State University study found it was easier for people to achieve specific goals if they received instructions using images. In terms of contacting your subconscious, this doesn’t have to be physical pictures.
In fact, you can visualize using your mind’s eye. Doing this for 10-15 minutes a day can help you reprogram your subconscious. Make sure to use images that empower and inspire you to achieve your goals.
A great way to get more in tune with your subconscious mind is through daily meditation. It doesn’t have to be hours. Actually, just ten minutes a day can have impressive benefits for your health and mental wellbeing.
By doing something daily, you also convert that activity into a habit. This helps to overcome the ‘willpower fatigue’ as our conscious brain only has finite resources when it comes to willpower.
To get your subconscious mind trained in what the conscious mind wants, it needs some guidance. It’s one thing thinking about what you would like to achieve, but writing your goals down can really make those dreams more attainable. This is because it can help to get your subconscious mind on board.
Get yourself a notebook and write down your goals. Make sure you do this every day. Then, repeat them to program your subconscious mind. This tunes your subconscious mind in step with your goals. You will notice that you start making steps to achieve your goals in your everyday life.
How do you make your subconscious mind work for you and not against you? It is essential to feed it with positive reinforcement. Remove negative influences from your day to day life and replace them with positive reinforcements. Eventually, this leads to reprogramming your subconscious mind.
Write yourself positive messages which you see throughout the day. Also, think about ways to distance yourself from people and habits that make you feel bad about yourself. This is a great way to reprogram your subconscious.
If you really want to know how to reprogram your subconscious mind, then hypnosis can be a highly effective means of achieving this. Hypnotherapy is a useful tool when your subconscious is reacting in an unhelpful way, for example, in case of mental disorders such as anxiety and phobias.
For instance, the subconscious can attribute a fight or flight response to a situation which does not require such a reaction. For example, the sweaty palms and breathlessness one might feel when required to speak in public.
Through hypnosis, our subconscious is given positive and affirming messages instead. Now we can overcome such reactions and make life much more manageable.
It goes without saying that we can be our own worst enemy. Being kind to yourself is an essential weapon in any quest to reprogram the subconscious mind.
Think about all that you have achieved in life. For instance, focus on the positives and draw on what you felt like during the happier moments in your life. Being kind to yourself.
This also extends to treating your body with care. Eat well, drink plenty of water and give your body a good workout. Treating yourself well is a key factor in achieving a healthy subconscious mind.
Our subconscious mind is, ultimately, the product of our experiences. It is true to say that the subconscious mind is intended to help us effectively navigate the world we live in. However, it can sometimes serve against us.
By following these 6 practices, you can reprogram your subconscious mind and live a better life.

The collective unconscious is far more powerful than the person subconscious, and money decides what's important and what's not important. That's why people with an extremely high IQ make little to nothing and may even be considered mentally ill. Most people simply aren't capable of that depth of thought and tend to play an unconscious game of "follow the leader." I'm one of those people. I saw through college in less than two weeks. I'm surrounded by people who live on the surface, and the easiest way to become brainwashed is to be born. I'd rather die than become another mindless automaton.
The truth is that most people spend their entire lives asleep in the midst of a steady stream of continuous projections that even a NDE is not enough to awaken them from. Most people aren't very smart - but they like money - like packs of Pavlovian dogs.
I'm intrigued by your comments and interested in discussing them apart from this platform, but we can begin with a few specific topics, like money--it is an inanimate object, and therefore cannot 'decide.' I believe what you meant is the value people hold for money and all it can enable them to do leads them more than the things that you value most. And as for people with high IQs, those who value money use it to generate lots of it, while those who do not value it do not...and since most people value money, those people often consider high IQed individuals odd for not using it to make lots of money.
The article rightly points out that everyone is brainwashed in their early years because we are not consciously awake enough to think/cognate independently, and that's where you got some of your worldview, for better or worse. It also stated that over 95% of what we do is "subconscious;" and though people like you and me might have learned to double our conscious awareness (from 5% to 10%), the vast majority of our thoughts are still controlled by our unconscious mind, including what we value and the way we think. I agree that we can all benefit from more conscious awareness and programming, but ignoring the fact that our unconscious mind and preconditioning is shaping our conscious thoughts is not very intelligent, and I believe deep thinkers like us should approach everything we think about with that humility and the consideration of other's to find the truths I believe you hope to find....
YES Humility is key😉
Just because it's a common belief doesn't make it the correct one. What's the difference between "Be humble or we will MAKE you humble," "Conform or we will MAKE you conform" and "Who's the genius now?"
"Common sense is the collection of prejudices acquired by age eighteen." -Albert Einstein
Contrary to popular belief, great minds do not think alike, brainwashed minds do. Language is a virus. This humility nonsense just pushes you're true feelings into the shadow until it becomes habit, like a mask you've forgotten you're wearing. True wisdom is like a drop of water in an ocean of stupidity or a needle in a haystack. Ironically, all I'm really doing here is paraphrasing feminine wisdom that almost every mother used to tell her children: the one about the face one is making that will become permanent and jumping off a bridge just because everyone else is doing it, but it seems to have died in this country along with intelligence in general. We're becoming increasingly like a computer, a machine.
"Man creates the machine and then the machine controls man." -Joseph Campbell
The matrix has you.
One time a psychiatrist tried to diagnose me with schizophrenia because I inadvertently talked over his head, outside his area of specialization. I am not schizophrenic. He was projecting. As I read what he wrote, with each successive word, sentence and paragraph, I could see his ego imploding.
