These Alice in Wonderland quotes are just what you need. Lewis Carroll’s masterpiece can help you through troubled times while giving you a sense of whimsical encouragement.

I love quotes. Positive statements have the power to reach you when other things may not work.

To add a bit of magic to your life, these Alice in Wonderland quotes reach out and touch your innermost being.

They will also reveal some deep truths about life and will give you great contemplation.

“If everybody minded their own business, the world would go around a great deal faster than it does.”

It’s much better to be focused on your own life than pry into other people’s business. Many of us waste too much time on nonsense, and this quote from Alice in Wonderland reminds us of that.

“If you believe in me, I’ll believe in you. Is that a bargain?”

-The Unicorn

It’s the trust that we have in each other which can be simple. All it takes is humanity and mutual kindness in order to live in peace.

“I don’t see how he can ever finish if he doesn’t begin.”

-Chapter 9, The Mock Turtles Story

This quote from Alice in Wonderland shows us the importance of motivation and strength. Basically, you cannot succeed without giving it a shot. This is an encouraging quote that reveals a simple but eye-opening truth.

“It’s no use going back to yesterday because I was a different person then.”

-Alice in Wonderland

This one is a testament to how we shouldn’t live in the past. We really are different people from one day to the next. We should accept and enjoy this fact.

“ Who in the world am I? Ah, that’s the great puzzle.”

Of all the quotes from Alice in Wonderland, this one speaks to me the most. I have often wondered what people thought of me, and I worried about how to change.

Then I realized that it wasn’t my responsibility to be who they wanted. In fact, it doesn’t matter if my personality makes any sense at all. Who am I? Maybe I don’t even know. Lewis Carroll was onto something, now, wasn’t he?

“Why sometimes I’ve believed as many as 6 impossible things before breakfast”

-The White Queen, Through the Looking-Glass

Maybe we do not all possess such great imaginations, but many of us do. Yes, it’s possible to wake up and fall into dreamland, thinking of the impossible for a while.

The mind is full of fantastical things, and yes, it can work fast early in the morning without restraint. This is creativity at its finest, and the power of an uninhibited mind. Believe, just as in Alice in Wonderland.

“We’re all mad here. You’re mad. You must be or you wouldn’t be here.”

-Cheshire Cat

Don’t you hate it when people call you crazy? I know I do. But remember this, you are just as normal as the one who calls you crazy. We all have our own ways of living and being happy. We can all be a little mad.

“The best way to explain it is to do it.”

-The Dodos

Yes! Instead of taking many words and repeating directions, just do what needs to be done. Actions are more powerful than words, after all.

“This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, `I–I hardly know, sir, just at present– at least I know who I was when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then. […] How puzzling all these changes are! I’m never sure what I’m going to be, from one moment to the next.”

-Alice

Changes come, and we just have to face that. Sometimes changes make no sense at all, but again, we have to accept that.

Changes also make it hard for us to understand exactly who we are. I think we must hold on to at least one constant to appreciate these changes… then let all the others continually evolve us.

“If you knew Time as well as I do,” said the Hatter, “you wouldn’t talk about wasting it.”

-The Mad Hatter

Oh, how profound this quote from Alice in Wonderland seems to be. It’s simple and yet, it says so much about time and how we perceive time.

We tend to underestimate its power over our lives and mistakenly think that we have plenty of it. However, time is not to be wasted, as this wise quote suggests.

“Why it’s simply impassible!

Alice: Why, don’t you mean impossible?

(Door)No, I do mean impassible

(chuckles)Nothing’s impossible”

Nothing is impossible, this is true. The things we think we cannot do make us numb when we fail and tear us apart when we think about them.

When we are released and unburdened, we try once again, and the impossible becomes possible. But if we block ourselves behind a door, it’s not impossible, just impassible until we let ourselves in.

“She generally gave herself very good advice (though she very seldom followed it).”

It’s often that we tell ourselves what we should be doing, thinking, or saying. But, do we follow our own advice? Many times we do not pay attention to our own wisdom, just like Alice during her adventures in Wonderland.

“Begin at the beginning, the King said, very gravely, and go on till you come to the end: then stop.”

-The King

This simple statement from Alice in Wonderland tells us the obvious. The quote wants us to start now and when we can do no more, then we stop the pursuit… whatever that may be.

“Everything’s got a moral if only you can find it.”

-The Duchess

No matter how bad it seems, there’s a moral to the story. There’s a reason, a cause, and a great revelation. Just open your eyes and your mind to see it.
