Mystics claim that the world of our dreams can be a connection to other worlds, inaccessible to our waking consciousness, so it is not a coincidence that since ancient times, it was believed that dreams of dead people are an important sign that must not be ignored.
The dead come to our dreams with a message, advice or warning that should be understood in order to avoid unnecessary troubles and keep ourselves from making mistakes, according to mystics.
Psychologists believe that dreams about relatives or friends who have passed away are just a manifestation of depression or feelings of guilt towards them.
However, let’s take a closer look at the mystical point of view and try to understand what messages can be carried by people who are now alive only in our memories and can talk to us only through our dreams.
Modern dream books often do not pay enough attention to many important nuances: what the dead people look like in our dreams – dead in the grave, alive and happy, or they come to life right before our eyes, or maybe we just do not remember in our dream that this person passed away long ago.
Interpretations of dreams about deceased people
It is commonly assumed that the dream of a dead person (talking to him, listening to his advice, and doing what he tells) is a sign of unexpected news or changes in life. Christian dream interpretation books sometimes explain that we have such kind of dreams when the soul of our deceased relative or friend has not found peace yet, and advise to hold additional ceremonies at the funeral and repose of the deceased (for example, if in the dream the deceased asks for water).
Pagan interpretations of dreams that have come down to us recommend to implicitly obey everything that the dead person asks for, in order to avoid the anger of the gods. And while dreaming dead people may be scary, sometimes it can be a good omen.
In case if in your dream a dead person comes back to life, it may mean that something lost will soon return (money, a thing, or even social status).
An English dream book interprets the dream of dead people as a sign of good events in the family, such as a wedding or the birth of a child or anything happy and prosperous. Another dream book says that seeing a dead relative in a dream before the wedding is a warning against the union. This dream indicates the unhappy marriage and warns that the children born in it will be sick and weak.
What about the dreams of a deceased relative?
At this point, there is no definitive interpretation, and you should always take into account many confounding factors. But most interpretations concerning dead relatives (especially parents) appearing in a dream indicate a warning of trouble.
Sometimes the dreams in which a sleeping person communicates with their deceased parents, help find inner peace, confidence, and even affect the success in business and the well-being of the family.
It is also believed that it is impossible to influence the dreams in which we see our dead loved ones. Mystics claim that even if you manage to do it, it is absolutely useless, since it is not us who call them in, it is them who decide to come to us.

My dream was of my dad…he passed away on Feb 27 2017…i took care of him his last 2 months..my son had posted a picture of his old tractor (he was a farmer) that night i dreamt of me and my younger sister with him on that same tractor..i just cant get that out of my mind..
My grandmother passed away this past Saturday ( October 7th 2017 ). We buried her today, well last night/ this morning I had a dream that I was alone with her at the funeral home and she opened her eyes and jumped out of the casket screaming holding on to my legs. I have had two dreams this week of my Nan who passed away five years ago. The last dream I had was so emotional for me because she was dead initially but came back to life and she needed an operation for her chest/ heart. I was waiting with my brother for her to come out of recovery but she never as I found out she died again. What does this mean ? Someone please let me know

I believe your best friend is telling you that he’s okay and not to worry about him. Maybe this was his way of saying goodbye. I hope this helped.

My grandmother recently passed away. I never dream of my deceased grandfather. I did the other night it was very vivid…i was on a beach with my husband…he called me by my name I turned around he was happy and looked good he had a big smile on his face…he then told me he was there to pick me up and that grandma was waiting in the car for me…I was very happy to see him…I said ok! Just let me take a dip in the ocean first…I jumped into the water ran out on to the shore…then I woke up…I felt very at peace when I woke…what does this dream mean?

I keep having dreams where I don’t recognize at first that my relatives who have passed are dead, but when I do remember, and start having lucid dreaming, I tell the individual that they are dead. And almost always they give me a smile, like I found out and wasn’t supposed to then I wake up? Has anybody ever heard of rules that the dead can’t interact with the living in dreams, they can only observe and interact without us knowing?
I have similar dreams, i keep telling them that are dead and they have to leave… I dream of random people that have passed on and most of the time they arent ready to leave and i chase them away… I am so freaked out and confused by this
This is all theory from experience btw. I do believe there may be visitation rules. It also might depend on how connected you and that person are. An additonal factor could be your natural spiritual awareness level. I experienced dreams of loved ones and only on the 2nd dream which were two years apart were they able to say something. One dream was indirect speaking and the other was directly to me. All I can say is don’t think about it too much. Simply seeing how you are doing is all their intent.

I just had the most delightful dream with my long time deceased daddy and my deceased golden retriever . Daddy and I were laughing so hard and later in the same dream my dog was doing obedience tricks. It was wonderful!

I dreamed of my uncle (my fathers elder brother) who was a pastor by profession and that passed away long time ago, for about 13 to 15 years. I dreamed that he apparently rose and was re-marrying to another women that was not clear in the dream. I just have a strong feeling that there might be a message within that dream which is quiet not clear to me. Because what I don’t understand is, if it was a message of me having to marry, that is very impossible as I am already also married. My dream last night was very vivid which included my deceased sister, my deceased first wife and the deceased captain of my ship in the US Navy. The connection with my captain was he attended the wedding of my deceased wife and I. From what I can remember, each encounter was one on one. It was like being at a social gathering where you wander around the room having one on one conversations. The conversations were light and much like catching up, how have you been doing as mentioned here. There were unresolved issues with my sister and my wife when they departed and both experienced a horrible painful death, but not with my captain. So I am wondering if deceased people from your past are allowed to petition for a visit and if all are for good, then up to three are allowed a group visit in the same dream representing the trinity. The only one that knew the other two deceased was my deceased wife. One loved me like a brother, one pretended to love me for selfish gain followed by divorce and one just thought very highly of me. The room was pleasant and bright with lots of sun coming from the windows. When I woke all three faces were in my mind followed by remembering the individual encounters. I felt like they all wanted to make sure I remembered it and remember them.

Do you believe in environmental spirits? I have re-occurring dreams of my grandfather visiting me. They are so vivid and stay with me for a long time. In the dream he is still alive and my grandmother is always with him. Last night I was listening to the radio love songs some sad awhile thinking about my beloved chiuauah that was killed last month on the 21St of March he was 11 yrs old. I had a dream Friday night my dad came to me he said you will be in heaven with me shortly.

Last night before I went to bed I had the first sense of calmness sense my father passed four days ago. I closed my eyes relaxed my breathing and cleared my head. Next thing I know I am in space surrounded by stars and their is this angelic person floating there with her arms out she is not solid but like a strong apparition I guess and she flew a couple feet down and pulls my sleeping dad up from the bottom of my vision. The higher she rose the younger and healthier he became. Once he was at our level he woke up with the just most brilliant smile, a smile I had not seen him gleem so hard in a long time. My dad then grabs the appartions hand and they begin to dance “ballroom dance” my dad always loved dancing, as they were dancing I saw the apparition turn into a young version of my nana and they were just dancing and dancing. I felt peace but I became overwhelmed and began crying and asking why did he go and he put his hand on my cheeks and told me he loves me so much and just kept saying it. I woke up after that.
My dad died 5 years ago, I had one dream about 3 months after he died of him smiling and I asked him loads of questions about everything, was he happy ? What’s it like in heaven? How long is he hear for? He kept smiling and just walked out of my front door with a smile on his face and then disappeared , I know he was telling me he was ok and I then relaxed and have been ok since.
