Brain fog can easily prevent you from enjoying life and its offerings. Learn how to recognize and get rid of it naturally.

Have you ever felt a little foggy in your head? Or having difficulty in remembering things that happened in your life?

If yes, you may be in a common situation happening to many of us in this fast-paced life – brain fog

What are the symptoms of brain fog?

  • Lack of energy or fatigue
  • Feeling irritated
  • Having bad headaches
  • Being forgetful and having difficulty memorizing information
  • Having little motivation and being easily depressed or bored
  • Feeling worried about things
  • Suffering from insomnia or having difficulty falling asleep
  • Having difficulty concentrating

What causes brain fog?

First of all, it is not surprising if you don’t have enough sleep and you feel tired. All of us need about 7 to 9 hours of sleep per night; teenagers need even more.

If you sleep well but still suffer from brain fog, this may be related to your diet. Inadequate sugar and complex carbohydrate intake or excessive use of caffeine can have a negative impact on brain functions.

Another factor causing brain fog is inflammation. This is the cause of numerous diseases. The good news is that anti-inflammatory foods can significantly enhance your brain health. Consuming enough vitamins is proven to benefit your brain, your energy and your mood, as well.

How to treat brain fog without medication?

1. Adjust your diet

As mentioned above, brain fog can be caused by your diet and inflammation. Therefore, the first step to avoiding brain fog is to reduce canned, processed food and other harmful artificial ingredients (for example, synthetic sweeteners).

Sugar can help you feel happy and energetic at first, but gradually, it steals concentration and energy from your mind. However, low levels of sugar and carbohydrate can have inverse effects and cause brain fog. Instead, you should eat a moderate amount of complex and unprocessed carbohydrates.

Eat healthy food for the brain such as fruits, fresh milk and potatoes. Studies show that eating fruits and vegetables can help reduce inflammation, which is one of the main causes of brain fog.

2. Safe and sound sleep

Sleep is one of the most important things for a healthy lifestyle. It is necessary to improve your mental and physical state. Having enough hours of quality sleep can bring you better concentration, memory and mood.

Lack of sleep has adverse effects on your overall health. Normally, 8 hours of sleep would be ideal, but some people only need 6 hours. Find out the most suitable sleeping schedule for you by tracking your night sleep.

3. Exercise

Exercise is an amazing way to eliminate brain fog and emotional tension. Exercise helps circulate your blood flow and bring more oxygen into your bloodstream. Moreover, it can greatly improve your health, both mentally and physically.

Studies have shown that exercise can greatly improve brain functioning. Even 40 minutes of jogging 3 times a week can improve your brain health.

Doing aerobics and morning exercises is proven to be extremely useful for brain health and memory. Yoga, tai chi and aerobics are great activities for a healthier brain which can also help you get rid of brain fog.

4. Take control over your stress

In these modern days, it is very difficult for people to go jogging and relax without receiving emails or phone calls, which could lead to decreased concentration and fatigue. Although you may not realize, it is obvious that receiving too many warnings and messages in a long time could lead to stress and depression.

A prolonged period of anxiety and fatigue could lead to increased levels of cortisol, which can bring about weight gain, sexual disorders, sleep disorders, and depression.

These symptoms are very common in patients with brain fog and can be eliminated if they find a way to control the amount of cortisol. You can do this by spending more time reading, exercising, and living in harmony with nature.

5. Detox

Metal and toxic chemicals are often found in water, air and food. For example, iron toxicity happens regularly and is difficult to diagnose. Some common symptoms are mood swings and disorientation.

Gut toxins or candida inflammation require detoxification in order to cure brain fog. You can try some useful detox methods like drinking a lot of water, fasting or adjusting your diet. The bottom line is you need to detox and adjust your diet to get rid of brain fog quickly.
